already held its first Congress, UPyD is more than ever the party of Rosa Díez, but only that. The cost has been paid, in a match in June 5586 had members say that, in the Assembly this weekend only 1811 voted. Casualties have indeed been numerous. Some, among whom I find myself, have been reprimanded and have thus avoided we intervene in the discussions. Our sin was to raise different positions from those of the unit, posing a serious risk to the approval of the proposals of the Directorate. Now, surely many of those who have not been what we do and, of course, we can clearly explain why.
First, the ideas we shared the founders of UPyD and its predecessor organization, Platform Pro, have been abandoned. But we believe that abandonment is not motivated by the desire to free democracy party members, but we believe that personal convenience and occurrences of the President and his environment. In terms of convenience, because we've seen makes us believe that premium in the organization and the cult of blind subservience to the leader. With regard to the occurrence because, for example, has been almost no debate to defend the unity of Spain to propose a federal state, which would break the single sovereignty for the territories.
Secondly we see that the files and dismissals, in our opinion arbitrary, have made the environment of the organization breathe. Who have contributed ideas and we have defended have been marginalized. Conversely, those who show blind ism and even collaborating on the witch hunt can be promoted. A well run organization the danger of filling people with more ambition than ideal and certainly curtails the internal debate. I do not know whether it will campaign trail but I'm sure it will be intellectually sterile, except as may give him the successive occurrences of a couple of board members.
Third, because many have the feeling that UPyD on track to become a bis PSOE, with its flaws and some more, but with none of its virtues. On this tour, away from the initial cross, many of whom are considered liberal have been disappointed. Some of those we are social democrats and others find no reason to what happens to the personal political history of Rosa Díez, including his resounding defeat in 2000 against Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero in their quest to reach the General Secretariat. We will have to see what the future holds, but we can not rule out seeing UPyD knocking on the door of the PSOE, especially if it occurred the removal of ZP.
In summary, we believe that Rosa Díez has not hesitated to exert all its influence inside and outside the party to not be exposed to any criticism, however constructive it was. We believe that policy has been confused with aggressive strength. The controlling apparatus has allowed things never seen in a democracy. Suffice remember that three of his companions were part list of the Electoral Commission that monitored the vote, under rules written by them. Who acts like a party rule we do not deserve to participate in state government. Of course, not many of us have to contribute to, or to join an organization that works well. I think it's explained.
