Dr. Juan Carlos Sanchez, a Venezuelan co-winner of Nobel Peace Prize to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change United Nations, who was in charge of development.
The publication shows an overview of the climate issue and insurance, which was founded with the goal of providing the insurance industry of the country a comprehensive view of the opportunities and risks posed by the challenges of climate in the context of Venezuela, as well as possible actions to address and reduce the consequences of climatic events such as floods, storms, droughts and heat waves, among others, which translates into a strong impact on people, their lives and property.

The book shows how precipitation is affected by the El Niño phenomenon and the consequences that brings change to human health and also indicated that "the most important point of the book is that it reveals actual impacts of climate change for Venezuela and especially in our insurance industry. There, you mention the pattern of hydro-meteorological hazards such as floods and landslides in the country to cause 70% of the events responsible for most deaths and damage to infrastructure. "
