Due to the successful convening of the first Festival held in Black Argentina May we return with many new and two days of pure pace and African culture that nobody is left out. ECUNHI, Libertador 8465, Capital
This year there will be Afro-Brazilian dance classes and Argentine Candombe, debate tables with artists, activists and intellectuals, projection of films, photography exhibitions and visual arts. During the afternoon and evening, will be presented Music and dance groups, whose members are of African descent from different countries: Ecuador, Haiti, Brazil, Senegal, Cape Verde and Argentina. Black II The Festival is promoted by the Project Support the Afro-Argentine population and their grassroots organizations. " Under the slogan "Presence, awareness, pride and culture", the project aims to make visible to the black population in Argentina, which includes descendants of enslaved Africans, the Cape Verdean community members arrived in the late nineteenth century, immigrants latest native to Africa and people from Brazil, Uruguay, Peru and countries of continental and insular Caribbean. These communities remain hidden or invisible in censuses, educational content and media.
The project is headed by Prof. Miriam Gomes (Union Mutual Aid Society Cape Verdean Dock Sud) and has the support of the English Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECI). Other activities organized by the Project this year are: health workshops, training workshops and job placement, Conference on Afro-Argentina and lectures on African culture and African-American.
